Still Life with Seashells

I was invited to participate in the competition "Still life with seashells". Is is a digital photo competition on some Russian site, no awards, just challenge. I took several images, and ended up with picture in black and white. This image was one of the few options, but I did upload it on Flickr. And it was chosen as icon of the Day in the group "The World Through My Eyes" http://twtme-icon-of-the-day-winners.blogspot.com/2010/12/still-life-with-seashells.html Thank you very much, it has made my day :))

Birthday

When people are asking me how old I am, I always want to answer 18. That is how I feel, I am still not sure about everything I do, like a girl, without experience. But actually I am 37 years old today. This number scares me :))

Changing season

I have taken this image yesterday. Just had this idea of winter coming, my birthday is close and then New Year. I have added some leaves on the background in Photoshop, usually I never combine still life with photo manipulion, but I wanted to break the rule this time.

White background

Most of my still life are photographed on the dark background. Usually it is grey or green paper. Dark background makes them look more like Dutch paintings and I like that :)) But on this weekend I have decided to try something different just for fun. White paper as a background for light and soft feeling.

My Dreams

I always wanted to try some photo manipulation in Photoshop. So I finally made some collages from my own images that I have taken during my vacations. I have a really big "stock" in my computer. It has opened my imagination.

Catching up

I am posting my latest creations. Autumn is my favorite season, so as you can see, my latest work are in autumn colors.

Once more about pomegranate

I really enjoy making still life from objects that have history. Those two sieves belong to my mother, who used them for nearly 30 years. Now she finally modernized her kitchen :) Pomegranate is always such a delight to photograph.

From Rhodes.

I was on vacation in Greece, on island Rhodes. Such a beautiful place. There are so many ceramic shops, I had a hard time to choose something to buy :)) But that little blue vase was the love from the first sight.

Everyday objects

Sometimes , when people comment my photos on Flickr, they write that my images remind them Old Dutch Masters. I actually look a lot on the old masters painting, learning things like composition , color or light. But in everyday life objects that surround me are so different from the ones on paintings. I think that my children toys are usually the things that I see most of the time during the day :))
